Briefly introduce the maintenance of the valve

Same as other mechanical products, valves also require maintenance. This is a necessary action to extend the life of the valve. To maintenance valves:

1. The purpose of maintenance is to extend the life of the valve, and ensure reliable opening and closing function.

2. Stem’s thread, should be rubbed with stem nut frequently, and coated with a little yellow dry oil, molybdenum disulfide or graphite powder for lubrication.

3. Even the valve does not opened or closed frequently, we should still rotate the hand wheel regularly and applies lubricant to the stem thread to prevent seizure.

4. For the outer valve, a protective cover must be applied to the valve stem to prevent rain, snow, dust and rust.

5. If the valve moves mechanically, we should lubricant the gearbox on time.

6. Always keep the valve clean.

7. Always check and maintain the integrity of the valve. If the fixing nut of the hand wheel comes off, it must be matched with a new one. Otherwise the square at the top of the stem will be ground and the reliability of the fitting will be lower.

8. Do not put heavy objects on the valve, do not stand on the valve.

9. The stem should be wiped frequently, especially the threaded portion. Lubricants contaminated with dust should be replaced with new lubricants. Due to the hard material contained in the dust, it is easy to wear the threads and the stem surface, which affects the service life.
